The club once again met at Suntree Village for the entire year, not taking a summer break. The 2nd Tuesday remained the scheduled date.
The December meeting included one spectacular Show & Tell coin, a 1915 Austria 4 Ducat gold coin (shown above), depicting Emperor Franz Joseph I on the obverse, and the crowned imperial double eagle on the reverse. These coins were minted as restrikes from 1915 to 1936, and are common, but contain about 0.44 Troy ounces of gold. Catalog: KM# 2276.
The December 9, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend was the club’s annual Christmas/holiday party (potluck), with the club supplying ham and turkey, along with beverages, etc. The meeting included a short show & tell, a small auction, some nice raffle prizes including two silver dollars, and discussion of the U.S. Mint’s “Omega” penny sets, with bidding in progress at Stack’s & Bowers. Eric was wearing the Dragon Trainer shirt he debuted in 2014 (see https://bendcoinclub.org/meetings/completed-meetings/2014-meetings/) to celebrate the new live-action version of the original animated movie.
The November 11, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend included an extended opportunity for club members to trade coins and other numismatic items among themselves. Guests were still welcome.
The October 14, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend was informal, and included reports on our local stamp & coin show and the PNNA Fall Coin Show held October 3-5 in Tukwila, Wash. There was a discussion about certain error coins based on an article in the PNNA’s quarterly publication, The Nor’wester.
The September 27, 2025, Stamp & Coin Show was held in Redmond, sponsored by the Central Oregon Stamp Club. The coin club had an informational table at this show, and some vendors had coins for sale. Thanks to everyone who attended.
The September 9, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend was informal, including a short report on the ANA convention in Oklahoma City, held August 19-23. There was a good raffle and a good auction, as usual.
The August 12, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend included photography of a few show-and-tell and raffle items (including the 1899 One Dollar “Black Eagle” Silver Certificate in nice, circulated condition shown above) and also a brief preview of the ANA convention in Oklahoma City, set for August 19-23.
The July 8, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend was the annual summer potluck dinner. Thanks to everyone who participated and especially to Sterling for arranging everything and cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs. We also had some nice raffle prizes including three mint or proof sets with 90% silver coins.
The June 10, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend was informal, as the club president was unable to attend.
The May 13, 2025, club monthly meeting at Suntree Village in Bend offered photography of member items (including the certified 1821 Half Dollar shown above) and reviewed the identity of some of the 16 famous mint engravers whose initials were included on ANA President Thomas J. Uram’s challenge coin for National Coin Week.
The April 8, 2025, club monthly meeting at Suntree Village in Bend featured photography of show-and-tell items (including the Canadian commemorative gold coin shown above), plus some good raffle and auction items!
The March 11, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend featured club Vice President Paul S. speaking about Native American Code Talkers who served in the military and the U.S. Mint medals honoring the tribes and the individual Code Talkers. Bronze replicas of the medals awarded are available for public sale on the U.S. Mint website in 1.5-inch and 3-inch sizes.

The January 14, 2025, club meeting at Suntree Village in Bend featured a program in which Mat discussed cast counterfeit Morgan Dollars, including photos.
