President's Message

President's Message by BCCOCO president Eric Holcomb (elected Nov. 2012, Dec. 2013-2015, March 2017, Jan. 2018-2019 and Dec. 2019)

Check the club's website,, for more information and some photos from past club meetings. In the event of any meeting changes, I will send an email the day of the meeting or sooner if possible, in addition to posting on the website.

Eric Holcomb, BCCOCO president (

September 2021 Greetings!

Unfortunately, the clubhouse at Suntree Village is once again closed due to the recent increase in virus cases.

I will probably schedule another online meeting via Zoom, however it won't be on the same evening (Sept. 14) since I have already scheduled another activity. Once I have scheduled the online meeting, I will send the link to everyone on the list. (The meeting is now set for Sept. 28.)

Thanks again to Sterling for keeping us advised of the situation regarding the clubhouse (community room). We hope the closure won't last too long.

Thanks and have a great Labor Day holiday weekend.

August 2021 Greetings!

This month's coin club meeting is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 10, once again at the clubhouse at Suntree Village. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. If you've forgotten how to get to Suntree Village, see

I'll present a slightly updated version of my talk "Olympic Participation Medals of the Summer Games," which I previously gave in 2012 and 2016.

There will also be a short "show and tell," some raffle prizes, and a short auction.

Please do use discretion as the virus is still circulating. This is especially true if you're older, have a medical issue, or haven't been vaccinated. We will probably have some more online meetings this fall, since they have been generally successful. We'll revisit plans for the fall, including any plans for a new Redmond site.

July 2021 Greetings!

Sterling reports that "Our Clubhouse is open - no restrictions. I have signed us up for the meeting this month ... next Tuesday (July 13)." The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., a half-hour earlier than we had been meeting online.

I'll try to keep the meeting fairly short and informal, with a short "show and tell," some raffle prizes, and a short auction.

We'll discuss plans for the fall, including any plans for a new Redmond site.

February-June 2021 Greetings!

Club members were invited to 40-minute Zoom meetings on Feb. 9 and 23, March 9 and 30, April 13 and 27, May 11 and 25, and June 8 and 29, all at 7:00 p.m.

2022 "Red Books" could also be pre-ordered, and an order was placed. Most of the books ordered have been delivered; one is still available.

All of these meetings featured one or more prizes from the club's inventory.

Note: Club members receive a detailed invitation to join Zoom meetings.

January 2021 Greetings and Happy New Year!

I scheduled a Zoom meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 7:00 p.m. This meeting was limited to 40 minutes, but that was enough time to say hello, and quickly share any news, Christmas gifts, new acquisitions, etc. Participation was low, but I have scheduled another meeting for Tuesday, Jan. 26, also at 7:00 p.m. See you soon online and Happy New Year, Eric.

December 2020 Greetings!

Our first Zoom meeting on Nov. 24 was successful and fun, but only five members participated, and one of them was disconnected early in the meeting for some reason. Because of the small size of the meeting, the usual 40-minute meeting limit for free Zoom accounts was waived.

We will try again on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. Meeting sign-in information is provided to club members via email before each meeting.

Thank you and Happy Holidays, Eric.

November 2020 Greetings!

Sorry about the late message again; obviously we are not meeting tonight (Nov. 10) and will not meet in person again until sometime in 2021.

I have finally purchased a web camera and will tentatively schedule a "virtual meeting" for Tuesday, November 24 at 7 p.m., two nights before Thanksgiving. I will go ahead with the meeting unless several people are unable to participate. If the meeting is held via Zoom, you only need a web browser or phone to participate.

The local estate collection I mentioned last month will likely still be available, but not until in-person meetings resume next year.

The three 2021 "Red Books" that I mentioned in July are still available.
